Day 18 -20 Sept 7-9

Well its time to say goodbye to the west and start heading for home. We have a couple of huge days ahead of us as we make our way back east.

Said goodbye to Mike and Fee about 6am on Wednesday morning and made our way out of Perth and headed towards Coolgardie . Saw a couple of motor bikes all loaded up and travelling as we drove through Coolgardie and another fellow in Norseman on a big KTM all loaded up and heading east. Tried to get some photos but wasn't quick enough most of the time.Just continued to roll onward and wound our way across the country through Norseman , Balladonia and finally called it a day after 1200 km at Cocklebiddy.
It was beautiful to sit outside our very isolated motel unit with a drink and dinner and look up the stars in the sky.
Up again at 4am the next morning to hit the road. We had a few tense hours till sunrise as there are lots of kangaroos around so thank goodness for the spotlights on the car as it made them much easier to spot. We even had another vehicle piggyback behind us to avoid the wildlife.
We continued to roll along through a huge variety of landscapes and weather ranging from not a cloud in the sky to torrential rain. If anyone saw the news about the massive electrical storm they had in Adelaide, we were right in the middle of it. Just as well we were able to follow a truck at that stage as otherwise wouldn't have been able to see anything.
Our day started in Cocklebiddy WA and ended in Murray Bridge SA - roughly 1600 kms and 18 hours . Fell into bed at the motel and then up again this morning at 5am and back into Bendigo at about 1pm.

Overall with our time travelling on the bike , we have covered nearly 10,000 kms. Quite a road trip I'm thinking.
Had a great time and saw so much of our wonderful country.
