Day 1 Aug 19 Bendigo to Clare

Well today was the start of our big adventure to the West. All packed up and ready to go at 6.30am this morning. Got to Eaglehawk and remembered we hadn't turned off the heating so back to home and the big adventure then started round 7am as we drove out towards Marong.
It started to rain as we left Bendigo and the rain just got heavier as we headed north towards Mildura. The cover we put over the bike really didn't stand up to the pressure from the wind and the rain so it needed quite a few extra stops on the way to add several metres of tape around the bike.
Russ had a dealer visit in Mildura so it was a quick stop at Autobarn and BCF to buy a new tarp and more tape to cover the bike a bit better.
While Russ was talking shop in Mildura, I headed off down to the river to sit have lunch and enjoy a coffee.
By this time most of the rain had disappeared and it was nice to sit in the sun for a while.
By 1pm , we were back on the road and across the border to Renmark then through to Barmera,Burra and finally Clare at round 5.30 pm  (SA time).

Met a colleague of Russ's for dinner and then back to motel for glass of wine and my blog.
Tomorrow we are off to Port Lincoln - looking forward to those oysters!!!!
